New Restrictions on Restaurants, Bars & Sports
Governor Phil Murphy today announced a series of new restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19 that will take effect on Thursday, November 12, 2020, including the closure of indoor bar and restaurant service by 10pm.
Restaurants, bars, clubs, and lounges will be prohibited from serving food and alcohol indoors between 10pm and 5am. The restrictions do not apply to outdoor service. Outdoor dining, takeout, and delivery may continue past 10pm. Seating at bars will also be banned. Bars and restaurants will be permitted to seat groups at tables closer than 6 feet together if they are separated by plexiglass. Individual fully-enclosed dining bubbles may be set up for outdoor use.
In addition, all interstate games and tournaments for indoor youth sports – up to and including high school – are prohibited. Teams will only be permitted to play other New Jersey teams.
