Nutley Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo Advisory:
Police Responded to a domestic incident on Humbert St. earlier this morning in which two parties suffered injury. One woman was transported to an area hospital and remains in serious condition.
The actor barricaded himself in the residence, and eventually negotiated from the home without incident. He was subsequently arrested and transported to another hospital for his injuries.
While incident was occurring police locked down local schools, and diverted all traffic ensuring the public’s safety.
While incident remains under investigation Director Petracco thanked Belleville Fire for their assistance, and commended the Nutley Officers, he said at no time was the public in harm’s way.
Chief Strumolo said that until a scene is determined safe, police take precautions to make certain bystanders are protected. He said the injuries were not the result of a firearm.
