Commissioner Kelly and the Nutley Department of Public Affairs and Health in partnership with Commissioner Tucci and the Department of Parks and Public Property are pleased to announce that the Early Morning Walking Club will be extended throughout the summer months!
Interested individuals should meet in front of the Nutley Department of Public Affairs and Health – 149 Chestnut Street – on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15am. The brisk 3-4 mile walk will start promptly at 6:30am.
As always, please check with your physician before starting any new physical activity.
As an added bonus, the Department of Public Affairs and Health has created a new Health and Wellness App specifically designed for the Township of Nutley. The app will be used to track health and wellness initiatives and challenges for the community. Some challenges that will be offered are walking, weight loss, nutrition, sleep, active minutes, and hydration. Activity trackers such as Apple Health, FitBit, Garmon, Google Fit, Samsung Health, MapMyFitness and several others are supported by this app but are not required. Participants may enter their own data using the Challenge Runner website or Challenge Runner smartphone apps. The Township of Nutley Challenge Runner app will launch a beta challenge entitled Summer Walking Challenge on June 19, which will run through September 16. Leaders will be recognized on the app as well as on the Township website. We hope everyone takes advantage of this fun and exciting health and wellness tool!
