Mayor Joseph P. Scarpelli, D.C., would like to notify residents of an upcoming paving project by the Essex County Department of Public Works that will occur in Nutley and that may impact Township residents. This notification is in an effort to inform residents of the upcoming work so that alternate routes can be planned if needed and to maintain a level of safety within the community.

Starting on Tuesday April 30, 2024 and continuing Wednesday May 1, 2024, weather permitting, the contractor for Essex County will begin roadway re-pavement operations on High Street. The work will primarily occur between the below-listed sections of High Street.

The work hours will be 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Please expect detours and roadway closures in and around the area of High Street from Bloomfield Avenue in Nutley to West Passaic Avenue in Bloomfield.
