Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci, the Department of Nutley Parks and Recreation and a host of Nutley High School students teamed up to celebrate Earth Day at Booth Park earlier today in Nutley.
The students spent the morning mulching, picking up branches, cleaning the playground and brook areas, using post hole diggers and installing brand new QR Code signs that will take visitors to a website that will share information on the trees and plants in the park.
“It’s wonderful to see so many of our young adults come out to help maintain our beautiful parks,” Commissioner Tucci said. “Taking better care of our environment is crucial in today’s society and it’s thrilling for me to see such a turnout of concerned students observing Earth Day by stepping up and pitching in with our Parks and Recreation Department.”
