4th of July Celebration, Summer Concert Series Lead Upcoming Summer Events

It’s officially summertime! The sun is beaming, the kids are out from school, and Nutley is prepared to host a series of exciting summer events. Mayor John V. Kelly III recently announced plans for the township's annual 4th of July celebration. A generational town favorite, the festivities (located on Franklin Avenue between Chestnut Street and New Street in front of the Oval) are scheduled for Thursday, July 4, beginning at 6:00pm. Food and entertainment will be available all night, ensuring a lively evening for all attendees. Fireworks are scheduled to start at dusk.

“Nutley is the destination to celebrate our nation's birthday,” says Mayor Kelly. “We are looking forward to continuing the Nutley tradition of celebrating our nation's birth with family-friendly entertainment, great food and of course, the best fireworks show in the state!”

Kicking off the summer schedule next week on Thursday, June 27th, Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci, Commissioner Alphonse Petracco and the Board of Commissioners are excited to bring back the Summer Concert Series featuring Danny V’s 52 Street Band, a Billy Joel Tribute band. The event will feature music, food and fun for everyone of all ages. Summer Fest will run from 6:00pm until approximately 10:00pm. As usual, it will take place on Franklin Avenue between Chestnut Street and New Street.

The event will bring the community together for some “family fun” with food trucks, a gaming trailer, kids blow ups, face painting, a balloon twister and more for all to enjoy. This is the first of three concerts in the 2024 “Summer Series.” The second will take place at Memorial Park 1 (The Mudhole) on July 11th. The Jersey Tenors will take to the stage for an evening of music as they perform hits from local favorites such as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Frank Sinatra, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and even Whitney Houston! The final installment to the series will be August 14th with a night at the park with Jersey Sound. Promising good music and fun, it’s the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

“We pride ourselves on bringing in the best talent for our Summer Fest and concert series,” Tucci says. “The music, the food, the games, all of it adds up to a summer filled with family friendly events.”
