Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci announces Beginner’s Songwriter Workshop registration is now available. “This exciting new program provides students in grades 7 through 12 an opportunity to thrive by tapping into their creativity. Developing music can stimulate their creative spirit leading to personal growth.” stated Commissioner Tucci. Throughout this Five Week program, students will explore and enjoy the following topics:
Classes for the Winter Session will be held on Wednesday evenings, beginning in March and will continue for 5 weeks at the Recreation Department located at 44 Park Ave.
Joseph Lilore, a distinguished musician, composer, arranger, and educator, has made a lasting mark in the world of music. With two master’s degrees in music, Lilore has built an impressive career spanning several decades. He is known for his extensive work with legendary bands, his expertise in the blues, and his contributions as both an educator and a content creator.
A Nutley resident, Joseph's early passion for music set the foundation for his diverse and accomplished career. Over the years, he developed a deep understanding of the blues and gained mastery across various instruments, with a particular focus on guitar and bass guitar. His musical versatility has allowed him to work with a wide array of artists, including iconic groups like Rush, The Rolling Stones, Genesis, Heart, Led Zeppelin, and Yes, among many others.
In addition to his professional work, Joseph is the host of the popular podcast Songwriting for Everyone. The podcast, which has surpassed 100,000 downloads and reached audiences in 182 countries and territories, showcases his commitment to sharing his knowledge and passion for songwriting with aspiring musicians worldwide. His unique insights into the craft of songwriting have made him a trusted voice in the music education space.
