The Township of Nutley announced it is moving farther into the 21st Century today as they launched their new municipal website with the latest bells and whistles to make government services and information easier and more convenient as possible for residents and businesses.
“In 2015, people expect information to be easily accessible at their fingertips and this newly redesigned website will meet those needs,” explained Revenue and Finance Commissioner Thomas Evans – Evans' Office of Information and Technology department spearheaded this project. “Residents and Businesses want to be able to communicate with municipal leaders and departments with expediency and we needed to make that happen.”
The new website, www.nutleynj.org, was re-designed by Evo Gov, who was retained by the municipality for their expertise in this particular field. The new site features enhanced functionality as well as a cleaner, easier layout to navigate. In addition, the website uses a mobile friendly design, which allows for viewing with any device.
“Too many local, county or state government offices operate in the dark ages,” added Evans. “I am proud to say the Board of Commissioners is keenly aware of the need to be on the forefront of information and communication now.” When we do something well it is always a team effort”, and since managing our costs is always paramount, the new site will save the township over $20,000 annually.
The new design allows for “one click” access to the most popular pages, including paying utility and tax bills, applying for permits and information on recreation and township programs while also providing the most up-to-date information in an easy to find format. The website now offers a robust Frequently Asked Questions section and Online Forms and Permits that allows access to Township services while at home or work.
Updates to the website will continue over the next several months as the Township looks to build upon the design of the site and integrate more solutions to better serve its residents and businesses. The site is scheduled to launch Monday, December 21, 2015. A little Christmas gift for the great citizens of Nutley, NJ.
