Nutley COVID-19 Update
The Township of Nutley is providing an update to the community on several important matters, including:
- Additional known COVID-19 cases and deaths
- “Drive By” Easter celebration reminder
- Reminder about retail store capacity reductions and wearing face coverings
In addition, we remind residents to stay at home and to observe social distancing if you must go outside. For additional information and previous updates, please visit www.nutleynj.org.
New Known Cases
The Township of Nutley announced an additional 13 new known cases and 3 deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the Township total known cases to 247 and 14 deaths.
The Board of Commissioners thoughts and prayers go out to all of the deceased and their families. Flags in Nutley and across the state have been lowered to half-staff in honor of all we have lost. No one will be forgotten.
“Drive By” Easter Celebration
The Nutley Board of Commissioners would like to invite our youngsters and their families to participate in a “DRIVE BY” Easter Celebration! It has been an unsettling time for everyone these past few weeks. We have had to cancel or postpone many of our Spring Programs. This is the safest way during these unprecedented times to bring a little bit of fun into our families Easter Holiday.
The EASTER BUNNY will be in the Parks & Recreation Parking Lot at 44 Park Ave. this Sunday morning at 11:00am to “WAVE” as you drive by. We look forward to seeing you all in a safe, uplifting environment.
Retail Stores: Capacity Reductions & Face Coverings Required
As a reminder, Governor Murphy issued an Executive Order that requires all essential retail establishments to limit the number of customers allowed in their stores to no more than 50% of the approved capacity. In addition, customers and employees must wear face coverings. Stores must also provide special shopping hours for high-risk individuals, erect physical barriers between customers and cashiers and baggers where practicable, regularly sanitize areas used by their employees, among other measures they must take. The order will also put greater protections in place for workers in warehouses and in manufacturing.
