Tropical Storm Isaias Update
August 5, 2020 - 1 PM
UPDATE FROM THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
- Avoid walking around in residential areas due to multiple charged power lines and large tree limbs continuing to fall.
- Do not move or drive around any barrels, caution tape, or any other devices used to block streets or sidewalks as they are there to protect you from live wires that are down in the area.
- Please check on your neighbors especially if they are elder.
- Do not run a generator in or too close to your home as it can produce harmful levels of Carbon Monoxide
- Make sure you have working Carbon Monoxide detectors in your home
DOWNED POWER LINES
Please be advised there still are numerous downed power lines throughout the township. Please DO NOT touch or go near these wires as they should always be considered live.
If there is a line that is down and there is no police vehicle or caution tape roping it off, please contact the Police Department at (973) 284-4940 to report it.
PSE&G is working on repairing these lines from the highest priority and as quickly as possible.
TOWN-WIDE CLEANUP
All township first responders, the Parks Department, and Public Works employees are working tirelessly around the clock to get the township cleaned up of all debris.
Thank you for your patience and stay safe.
